CHOOSE YOUR WAY IN

Original Azeroth Survivors by Aethus

The creator’s free browser game. Requires WebGPU; the landing page recommends current Chrome, Edge or Safari and also links a Windows download. Open the original directly: its launcher blocks third-party hosting and embedded play. Online co-op is available in the current client. Desktop keyboard and mouse are the starting recommendation; mobile compatibility has not been verified by this directory.

Community local rebuild — separate from the original

A third-party from-source local build using Rust and Bevy, not Aethus’s official source repository or a hosted play link. Its README requires WoW 1.12.1 game data, documents a roughly 5.5 GB data download and provides make build / make start instructions. The engine’s MIT/Apache-2.0 licences do not cover Blizzard game assets. Local-build features and progress should not be assumed to match the original.

Your guide to the browser game: Azeroth Survivors

About the Azeroth Survivors game

Azeroth Survivors is Aethus’s free fan-made survival roguelike with World of Warcraft characters and settings. Pick a hero and a zone, keep moving through enemy waves, and shape your run with spell upgrades. Abilities fire automatically, so positioning and upgrade choices drive the action. It is an independent fan project, not an official Blizzard release.

Where to play Azeroth Survivors

Use the original game button above to open wow.aethus.pl directly. The creator’s page also offers a Windows download. Its launcher rejects copied sites and third-party frames, so this directory links to the original instead of embedding it. If the page reports heavy traffic, follow the download or community links on that page.

How to play Azeroth Survivors

Select your class and an available zone, then press Enter to begin. Move with WASD or hold both mouse buttons. When upgrade cards appear, use 1, 2 or 3 to choose; R rerolls the choices, subject to the run’s displayed cost or allowance. Keep an escape route through the crowd while your spells attack. Check Options for current key bindings.

Start with an accessible zone and learn one class before trying harder encounters. Read each upgrade’s changes before choosing it, and use the current game menu for talents, equipment and co-op. These features change over time; a guide for an older build may describe different unlocks or balance.

Browser requirements and game files

The original browser game needs WebGPU. Its page recommends a current Chrome, Edge or Safari; actual support depends on your operating system and graphics hardware. Allow the initial game-data loading to finish. The hosted route loads its own data rather than asking for a manual MPQ import. Use the creator’s Windows option if your browser cannot run it.

What is the Azeroth Survivors GitHub repository?

OutThisLife/azeroth-survivors-re explicitly identifies itself as a community local rebuild. It runs on a Rust/Bevy client engine and documents Rust, make, curl, unzip and Bash as prerequisites. Its build process obtains and extracts WoW 1.12.1 data before compiling WebAssembly; the documented data download is about 5.5 GB. This is a development setup, separate from opening the original browser game.

The repository does not bundle Blizzard artwork, maps or audio. Its engine code is offered under MIT or Apache-2.0, while game assets retain their own rights. Do not assume its controls, available zones, saves or multiplayer match Aethus’s current build. This entry was researched on 28 October 2026; source review does not establish compatibility on every device.
