Need for Speed: Carbon in your browser
Need for Speed: Carbon is a 2006 racing game featuring city street races, car customization and head-to-head canyon duels. NFS Carbon Online is an unofficial fan project that brings the PC game to desktop browsers and runs a community multiplayer server.
How to start and which game files you need
Open NFS Carbon Online in a recent desktop version of Chrome or Edge with WebGPU and choose Play. The hosted route loads game files automatically as needed. Keep some browser storage free for downloaded data and saves. If you have a compatible Windows installation, the launcher also lets you import its game folder into browser storage.
Keyboard and controller setup
The project documents keyboard input and support for Xbox, PS4 and PS5 controllers. Press a button after the game appears to activate a controller, then use Options → Controls to review or change bindings. The launcher’s Saves panel can back up progress stored in your browser.
How to race or free roam with friends
Enable Play online in the launcher and choose a player name. For races, open Custom Match from the game menu. The host lists Sprint, Circuit, Speedtrap, Canyon Duel, Pursuit Tag and Pursuit Knockout. For shared free roam, use the same room name in both launchers. The host says an EA account is unnecessary for its community server.
