## Browser projects

### WebXash
- Status: Requires original game files from a copy you own; follow the project instructions.
- Project: [WebXash](<https://x8bitrain.github.io/webXash/>)
- Documentation / source: [Project documentation](<https://github.com/x8BitRain/webXash>)
- Author: x8BitRain / webxash3d-fwgs
- Controls: Keyboard, Mouse

Requires your own Half-Life files, with a root containing the valve directory or the documented ZIP layout. The upstream recommends keyboard and mouse, documents a save manager, and requires special WebSocket server setup for multiplayer. It is not the official Steam client.

## About Half-Life through WebXash

The Half-Life browser destination in this directory is WebXash, linked with its upstream repository. It uses a browser engine project rather than providing an official Valve web release. A familiar opening screen does not establish that the full campaign, every mod or native multiplayer server is supported.

## Bring compatible game files

This project requires your own compatible Half-Life game data. Follow the repository's preparation and loader instructions, and keep an untouched copy of your original installation. Do not assume a mod works simply because it uses the same file extensions: supported versions and engine behavior matter. The directory does not distribute purchased game assets.

## Controls and saving

A keyboard and mouse are the sensible starting point. Check movement, use, fire, weapon switching and mouse capture before beginning. Establish how the hosted build stores or exports saves, then test restoring a disposable save before a long session. Project setup information comes from upstream documentation; this directory has not verified a complete campaign, multiplayer compatibility or progress surviving every browser-storage setting.
